Kobian launches PC builder kit with AMD processors

BANGALORE: Kobian, a motherboard manufacturer, has announced that it has

partnered with AMD to offer a complete solution for the Indian Reseller and

Channel Community.

As a part of this initiative, Kobian has launched a ' Motherboard and AMD

Duron processor kit in a box ' for system builders and integrators that will be

attractively priced at Rs3,800 per box (channel pricing). The Kobian-AMD PC

builder kit will be available through Kobian distributors (Supertron Electronics

Ltd. and Inspan Infotech Pvt Ltd).

Sharing details of the Kobian-AMD partnership, Kobian MD Sunil Sharma said,

"Kobian is happy to offer a complete AMD processor based solution to the

channel community. The initiative with AMD will help us address ensure

availability of right motherboard-processor combination and is expected to

significantly boost the sub 15 thousand rupees desktop PC market."

"The kits will be distributed through Kobian distributors

Supertron Electronics Ltd and Inspan Infotech Pvt Ltd who will make this

available. Over the next three months, we will be coordinating road shows in

10-14 cities to educate the reseller community on the benefits of this offering,"

he added.

AMD Far East Ltd (India) Country Manager, Sanjeev Keskar said, "The

partnership with Kobian will open new avenues and is expected to further

strengthen AMD's offering in the SMB, Education and home PC segment that is

driving the growth of the Indian PC market. We expect to further enhance this

initiative by offering the AMD Athlon 64 processors very soon under this

program."

"With Kobian's strong distribution network, AMD is

confident of capturing a significant share of the Indian assembler market,"

he added.
