He tweeted that Mega, a cloud-based system that encrypts stored files, has attracted so much global interest that his team is finding it difficult to manage traffic to its site.

The website, which launched on Sunday, attracted one million visitors and more than 5,00,000 registered users in its first 14 hours, according to him. He however, declined to give an update on the total number of users.

"The massive global PR around the #Mega launch is simply too big to handle for our start-up. I apologize for poor service quality," he tweeted.

He added that his team is working to resolve the issues and the service would be normal within 48 hours.
