Keskar joins Freescale as India sales head

BANGALORE: Sanjeev Keskar, who recently left AMD where he served as country manager for the last four years, has joined Freescale Semiconductor as country sales manager.

Texas based Freescale Semiconductor, which was formed about a year and a half ago, is the spin-off of Motorola's product division.

The $5.7 billion company is primarily focused on products like microcontrollers, DSPs and wireless technologies.



Speaking exclusively to CyberMedia News, Keskar said, “India is of strategic importance to the company and they have some high-growth plans for the company. So I look forward to the challenging and exciting times ahead.”

While he did not reveal the extent of Freescale's operations in India, he said that his team would be focused on sales and marketing support and project implementation support. “The company wants to increase its revenues in India by growing its business here,” he said.

Freescale started its operations in India in 1998 and since then, has been working on areas such as SoC Integration and IP design. According to the Freescale corporate Website, the Indian center employs around 200 engineers who form an integral part of Freescale's design team.
