Kavveri acquires technology from PCTEL

BANGALORE, INDIA: Kavveri Telecom Products Ltd has announced that it has acquired technology, intellectual property rights and patents of cellular infrastructure base station antenna line from US-based PCTEL Inc.

The company also gets access to the customers and vendors of Sigma Wireless in Europe. PCTEL had acquired Ireland-based Sigma in 2005.

Kavveri Telecom manufactures antennas and RF products for the wireless industry in India from its facilities in Bangalore, Jigani and Puducherry. It is upgrading its manufacturing facility at Jigani, near Bangalore with an investment of Rs 15 crore.

Kavveri's clientele in the country include Motorola, Ericsson, Nokia, Nortel, ZTE, Alcatel-Lucent, Vodafone Essar, Idea, Reliance, Spice, BSNL, WorldSpace.

Kavveri expects to double its turnover to over Rs 100 crore during this year.
