Karnataka leads in IT Exports

BANGALORE: IT companies in Karnataka continue to lead the country in IT exports. During the year 2006-07, IT companies in the state have contributed Rs 50,000 crores towards IT Exports, which is almost about 40 per cent of India's IT Exports.

"The state government is proud of the IT Companies which have contributed a lot towards making this part of the world a hot IT Hub," Karnataka IT & BT Secretary, M N Vidyashankar said.

Karnataka government, in association with STPI-Bangalore, will the IT Exporting Companies with IT Export Awards on Aug 8 at a function in Bangalore.

Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and Union Minister for IT and Communication A Raja will give away the awards. Jainder Singh, Secretary to Government of India, Department of IT, will also attend the awards function.
