The policy, that has been jointly brought out by the Department of Youth Services and Sports and Karnataka Knowledge Commission targets the youth between the age group 16 to 30 years.

In order to promote maximum youth inclusion, the policy is planning to set up Vivekananda Youth Centres both in urban and rural areas across the State.

The Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Corporation (SWAYEM), which will be set up under the new policy, will manage these centres.

According to a policy document, the policy is designed to engage the youth by exposing them to broader opportunities for growth.
