PUNE: Kalyani Net Ventures - part of the IT network in the Kalyani group, a US $1 billion multinational industrial conglomerate with interests in steel, forging, infrastructure, electronics and IT enabled services, is spreading its wings to Bangalore.

(KNVL) has signed a partnership agreement with CAD Potential Inc.(CADPO) USA, for imparting the training & certification for CAD based automotive designing.

Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) 'Automotive CAD Training & Certification' is now available in India through Kalyani Net Ventures.

CADPO is a leading organization for CAD training and is the corporate training partner for 40 different organizations worldwide including GM, Ford and Daimler Chrysler.

SAE Automotive CAD certification is recognized as the only international program that provides the necessary developing and measuring automotive CAD skills as per the independent worldwide standards.

As per the agreement, KNVL will have rights for India and will be responsible for activities such as marketing, training and certification. The SAE Automotive CAD certification aims at increasing the knowledge necessary to be successful automotive CAD engineers and addresses specific needs outlined by some of the leading OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.

The parent company Bharat Forge has been catering to the needs of various OEMs. According to director Amit Takale, there is a high need in the market for CAD applications and therefore, the need for trained manpower is also increasing. When General Motors was looking for 400 CAD engineers, they just about managed to tap 30 engineers, he pointed out.

Pune alone has a huge demand for such engineers with companies such as Tata Johnson Controls, John Deere scouting for talent. Takale estimated the need to be as high as 3000 engineers.

The company has therefore decided to ride the wave and build upon its alliance with CADPO to set up training in Bangalore. According to Takale, the first year would see atleast 500 students pass out from the Cadpo courses. At a later point, there are plans to expand to Chennai and Delhi.
