Jubilant Organosys plans complete shift to SAP

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Jubilant Organosys is planning a major shift in its ERP system. The company is working out to deploy SAP ERP solution in phased manner across the board.

“We are upgrading our ERP systems across all our subsidiaries in the US and Canada in phase I. In phase 2 , we will shift all our ERP system in India as well on a common integrated platform,” said Parminder Singh, senior VP and Global CIO, Jubilant Organosys in an interaction with CIOL.

Jubilant Organosys is the largest Custom Research and Manufacturing Services (CRAMS) company and one of the leading Drug Discovery and Development Solutions (DDDS) companies from India.

In phase two, Jubilant will also set up excellence support in India to provide all kind of support to its SAP ERP integrated platform across the globe.

There is no fixed timeline that the company has set for completing phase 1 but expects that both the phases will be completed by the end of financial year 2011.

“We will set-up a center of excellence in India in the phase 2 of our ERP implementation. This center will oversee and provide support to all our ERP operations across the globe. All the policies for SAP ERP will be designed and governed from India,” said Singh.

Singh added that the company has floated request for proposal for selection of implementation partner of this solution.

“We should be able to finalize it within a couple of months,” said Singh.

Singh added that the company plans to invest between 1.5 to 2 per cent of its global revenue on the implementation of SAP ERP system.

In the last financial year, Jubilant Organosys had reported consolidated sales of Rs 37, 812 million which was 8 per cent higher compared to the previous year. Its profit after tax stood at Rs. 4,214 million which reflected growth of 49 per cent. The company’s EBITDA was at Rs. 8,260 million, which grew by 34 per cent compared to financial year 2008-09.
