Deque is now the official accessibility partner for jQuery, with the goal to equip jQuery developers and contributors with the necessary knowledge and tools to create code that is accessible for all people, regardless of ability.

As part of the ongoing partnership, Deque is sponsoring a jQuery Accessibility Summit for developers and contributors. We are very pleased to announce that we will again be hosting the summit at the Deque Systems headquarters on January 16-17, 2014.

This special two-day event will cover the most common web accessibility issues encountered in jQuery UI and jQuery Mobile, options available to remedy the most common accessibility problems found in applications that use jQuery, and techniques needed to make jQuery components accessible.

The summit will be lead by top accessibility and JavaScript experts from Deque, jQuery, and other organizations with well over 25 years of experience. Scott Gonzalez from the jQuery UI Team will be giving a keynote address, and Deque's team of experts will be giving presentations on a variety of topics.

Topics covered will include:

* Web Accessibility Fundamentals.

* An Overview of ARIA, JavaScript, and Interactive Web Accessibility.

* HTML 5 Accessibility.

* Accessible Interactive Forms and Form Validation.

* Web Accessibility Testing Techniques.

* Testing with Screen Readers.

* jQuery Mobile Accessibility.

* A jQuery UI Accessibility Face-Off.

* Special keynote address from jQuery.
