John Peeler is new CEO of Veeco Instruments

SAN FRANCISCO, USA: John Peeler has been elected as the Chairman of semiconductor production equipment vendor Veeco Instruments. Peeler replaces Edward Braun, who served as Chairman of  the company's board of directors since 2007.

As per the company’s statement, Braun will remain a member of Veeco's board. "Since John became Veeco’s CEO nearly five years ago, his leadership and vision have transitioned the company from an industry player to an industry leader," said Braun.

Veeco's board now consists of seven members and Joel Elftmann, did not stand for reelection to the board after his term expired. Elftmann is a veteran semiconductor equipment executive and Veeco board member for 18 years.
