BANGALORE, INDIA: John Chambers, chairman and chief executive officer, Cisco Systems Inc. will visit India later in the month.
Chambers will be in Bangalore on October 30 and 31, on his fourth visit to the country.
Chambers, in his last visit to the country in December 2006, had announced India as Cisco’s Globalization Center East.
Wim Elfrink, chief globalization officer of the company, relocated to Bangalore, early this year to drive Cisco’s globalization strategy.
On his second visit in 2005, Chambers announced Cisco’s investment of $1.1 billion towards research and development operations in India, including training, development and staffing over the next three years. He also announced Cisco’s plan to triple the company’s India staff over the next three years.
Chambers became Cisco’s CEO in January 1995 before becoming the chairman of the board in November 2006.
