“As an international BPO, we have been operating for about 10 years, all in the international space, and earlier this year we decided to get into the domestic sector too,” Manoj Kumar Matai, Jindal Intellicom's vice president - Solutions & Transition told CyberMedia News.

“From the last 10 years' experience working in international space, we have gained a lot of work experience, domain expertise, built processes and strengths on the international side, which we want to consolidate and obviously utilize to build up a domestic business,” Matai said.

“On the domestic front our current strength is about 100 people but we have a target of 500-600 people by the end of 2011. While on the international front, we have an existing ramp up plan to add 600 more people from the current strength of 850 people. So in the year 2011, we will grow by 1000-1100 people,” Matai said.

Jindal Intellicom, a division of Jindal Group, has been primarily focusing on the finance sector in the international market. And the company is now keen to continue concentrating on the BFSI sector even in Indian domestic market, starting with the insurance segment including life and general insurance.

On the domestic business, Matai explained that the domestic BPO business, services and expectations are growing as lots of good and large companies are operating in India. “And the customer is much more informed and educated because the local domestic customer is much better traveled and expect the same kind of customer service, treatment and processes, which they experience when they travel outside the country.”

According to Matai, the company has a lot of strengths and experience, which can be brought to the domestic customers starting with the insurance sector as it is growing very fast and it is still grossly under-penetrated market.

“Both life and general insurance have a lot of room to expand in this country and we see a lot of value offer in BPO services for the insurance players here. And we are very excited by the opportunity as well as the chance to work with some of those nice companies operating here,” he added.

The privately held company has only one delivery center at its large campus in Motinagar, New Delhi. Apparently, the company has no plans to add new centers as it considers the existing facility sufficient enough to meet the planned ramp up.

About the recent announcement by US administrations against the outsourcing industry, Matai commented that those policies are mostly limited to governmental businesses. “The share of governmental business in our revenue is zero and so we do not see any impact on our international BPO business.”

On the international front, Jindal Intellicom gets about 75 per cent work from BFSI sector, while in the domestic sector its 100 per cent focus in on BFSI, as of now. In the last two years the company has grown close to 100 per cent
