Jerry Rao resigns from MphasiS advisory board

BANGALORE, INDIA: Jaithirth (Jerry) Rao, chairman, EDS Asia Pacific Advisory Board, announced his resignation from the advisory board of MphasiS, citing personal interests to pursue.

Rao, who is also the founder of MphasiS, was its chairman and managing director from 2001 to 2006. Then till early 2008 he continued as the non-executive chairman of the Board.

Jerry Rao has also been leading EDS’ operations in India as the vice president since 2006. Rao’s decision comes at a time when HP completed its $13.9 billion acquisition of EDS.

“Jerry Rao is a visionary and laid a strong foundation for the growth of MphasiS. He played a pivotal role in the integration of the EDS and MphasiS and has been instrumental in enabling clients leverage this combined strength,” said Michael Coomer, chairman MphasiS and senior vice president, Asia Pacific and Japan Global Financial Services Industry EDS.

“As an entrepreneur my experience of building MphasiS was unique and I will cherish those memories,” said Jerry Rao. “MphasiS continues to grow from strength to strength with EDS as its parent Company… I am looking forward to more time now to pursue my personal interests.”
