JEE Main 2021: Latest Developments on the Engineering Exam

NTA has released the admit card for JEE Main 2021 February session on the official website and given an option to students to choose exam date for May.

NTA has released the admit card for JEE Main 2021 February session on the official website. Apart from the February session, there have been many announcements for the year so far. Further, with the option to give multiple exams for BTech and BE admissions, students have apprehensions about their board exams clashing with JEE Main (May) 2021.

Thus, here's what we know so far from what NTA and the Ministry have said:

1. Admit Cards for JEE Main 2021 February Out

NTA has already released the JEE Main 2021 February admit card. Students can download the same from the official website. Like last year, candidates will have to fill up the self-declaration (undertaking) with the JEE Main admit card. NTA has requested that candidates mention their recent travel history and health status on the form. Candidates have to fill the form in advance, before reaching the exam venue. Only the have to sign the form in the presence of the invigilator.

2. Students will have the option to select exam dates for May session

JEE Main 2021 will be conducted on May 24, 25, 26, 27, and 28 in online mode. Class 12 Board exams will also be conducted in May-June session. Thus, to avoid the clash between class 12 board exam date with any of exam dates, candidates can provide their favourable exam date while filling the JEE Main 2021 application form. To reduce the burden on students with their board exams, the official notification states that it will seek applications for the same from May 3 to 12. Students will have to provide their Class 12 Roll numbers, exam dates and favourable dates while applying for the exam.

3. What can you carry to JEE Main 2021 February exam centre?

According to NTA, candidates must necessarily carry their admit card and photo ID along with the undertaking form. Additionally, students can carry essential items like sanitiser, a pair of gloves, masks to cover their face, water and some food. Further, diabetic candidates can carry eatables and water. They can carry fruits or glucose tablets only in addition to a transparent water bottle. In any case, candidates cannot carry handbags, gadgets, electronic items or communication devices (or any metallic devices).

Further, students who will appear for the BArch exam and the drawing test have to bring their own geometry box set, pencils, erasers and colour pencils or crayons (no watercolours).

4. Social distancing norms

There are over 600 exam centres for the JEE Main 2021 Feb session. Students will be seated following a pre-approved social distancing norm, mostly 12-20 students in one class.
