TOKYO, JAPAN: Japan -based manufacturers of semiconductor equipment posted ?104,748 million in orders in April 2008 (three-month average basis) and a book-to-bill ratio of 0.76 according to the April 2008 BB Ratio published by SEAJ.

A book-to-bill ratio of 0.76 means that ¥ 76 worth of new orders was received for every ¥100 of product billed for the month.

The three-month average of worldwide bookings in April 2008 was ?104,748 million. The bookings figure is 7.7 percent down the final March 2008 level of ?113,471 million and 35.4 percent down the?162,062 million in orders posted in April 2007.

The three-month average of worldwide billings in April 2008 was ¥137,316 million. The billings figure is 11.3 percent down the final March 2008 level of ?154,842 million and 20.2 percent down the April 2007 billings level of ?172,127 million.
