This secretariat will suggest possible alternative policies to the National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of Science and Technology, to promote incubation infrastructure and incubation companies in the country.

K.C. Chandrasekharan Nair, managing director, Technopark-TBI, will be the new Secretary General of ISBA. Deepanwita Chatopadhyaya has been appointed as the new president.

"Technopark-TBI has picked up a rapid pace in the last three years and in this period more than 70 companies have come under incubation. The success in bringing the ISBA secretariat here will create more opportunities for entrepreneurs in the near future," said Nair.

The Indian STEPs and Business Incubators' Association (ISBA) was set up in 2004 as a registered professional body to promote business incubation in India.

It aims to promote business incubation activities in the country through exchange of information and sharing of experience among related organizations engaged in the promotion of start-up enterprises.
