NEW DELHI, INDIA: After months of waiting for the India launch of Google LG Nexus 4, the excitement among Indian consumers regarding the smartphone seems to be dying down. The smartphone, which was initially being speculated to be launched in November 2012, has still not officially been launched in India.

With no word from Google or LG regarding the India launch, even online retailers are pushing the availability date on their websites forward. Online retail website Saholic.com, last week displayed the availability date of the smartphone as February 15, but has now pushed the date forward to February 28.''LG E960 Nexus 4 16GB will be available by 28/02/13'' says thw latest message on the website.

Users selling the smartphone on eBay too are quoting a lesser price than what was being quoted initially. The smartphone, which was in December being sold at Rs, 36,00, is now being sold at around Rs. 30,500 on eBay by users.

Indian consumers seem to be enraged by the lack of availability of the smartphone in the country. Many have opted to go for other smartphones as well. ''Google and LG has frustrated the customers. I bought note II rather than an endless wait,'' comments a viewer on CIOL.

''Was eagerly waiting for this phone for last 3 months and finally it is set to come to my doorsteps tomorrow.Believe me guys its a must have device. It is really pity LG has ignored India.Surely they are doing a really big mistake of ignoring one of the world's biggest smartphone market like India,'' says another CIOL viewer.

The reason behind the delay in launch in India is apparently due to a debate between LG and Google over the price tag of the smartphone, according to a report on IBN Live. The report, quoting an unnamed source says that ''They (LG and Google) have not yet come to terms on whether to opt for the same price model at which Google introduced the phone in the US, or let LG determine the price of the new phone for the Indian market.''

Whatever the reason may be, it should be kept in mind that some of the previous Nexus smartphones such as Galaxy Nexus and Nexus One were never launched in India and the second Nexus smartphone 'Nexus S' was made available after several months of the global release. What do you think will be the fate of LG Nexus 4 in India?
