Irus Infotech forays into BPO

HYDERABAD: Irus Infotech Pvt Ltd., a software development and services company, is foraying into BPO services. The company has signed up with a Canadian-customer and is hoping to churn out revenues of $ one million from the BPO services unit during the current financial year.

Irus Infotech MD G Surendranath Reddy said, “We have bagged a data conversion project with a Canadian customer in the BPO space. The SLAs are already agreed upon and we will start the operations soon with 100-seats.”

Reddy also informed that the customer they signed with is a billion dollar company with various lines of businesses. “This is our first project and depending on our delivery model, we foresee that more quantum of work will be outsourced to us.”



Irus Infotech, formerly known as Surishmika Technologies was set up early 2002. Started with service offerings in web based applications, the company also does software development. Reddy explained, “We are presently developing some modules of billing software for a telecom company. Going further, we intend to focus equally on software development and BPO services.”



Detailing the geographies they would be targeting for software development, Reddy said, “The telecom market in the US is presently in a consolidation mode. We would rather focus more on the European market.”



The company has so far invested around Rs 40 lakh and is planning to invest another Rs 40 lakh for further expansion. “To start our BPO operations, we have the infrastructure. All we need in people and equipment and this might need another Rs 40 lakh. We are also hoping to exit the financial year with $ one million revenues given the BPO operation takes off as deemed.”
