IPv6 Forum India honoured

BANGALORE: IPv6 Forum, a worldwide consortium of leading Internet vendors, research and education networks, has awarded the 'IPv6 Forum Internet Pioneer Award' to the three founding members of IPv6 Forum India for their relentless efforts in promoting IPv6 standards and technologies in India.






At a ceremony held during the recently concluded 5th IPv6 Global Summit at Bangalore, IPv6 Forum president Latif Ladid presented the award, on behalf of the entire global IPv6 community, to Hemanth T Dattatreya, Jayachandra K and Gopi Krishna S Garge of the IPv6 Forum India.





"These three have pioneered the advocacy of IPv6 in India and around the world right from the start. Their voluntary efforts are exemplary in founding and driving the mission of the IPv6 Forum India with dedication and tenacity becoming the prime pillars of the successful introduction of IPv6 in India" applauded Ladid.





The IPv6 Forum India is a concerted effort to bring awareness of IPv6 into India, to propagate its widespread deployment and to build an active IPv6 community within India. The Forum acts as a nodal point to facilitate in coordination of all the nationwide IPv6 activities. The Forum also organizes an annual convention on IPv6 in India.





Accepting the award along with the other two founding members, IPv6 Forum, India president Jayachandra K said, "The need for IPv6 is no more a point of discussion. Now the focus is to understand deployment strategies, new services, business opportunities and ROI".
