iPhone users can now use WhatsApp on PCs

SINGAPORE: WhatsApp has silently updated its website with instructions to set up WhatsApp Web for the iPhone. With the new roll out Apple iPhone users can send and receive WhatsApp messages using a browser on their desktops.

The newly released WhatsApp Web, connects the browser on a computer with an iPhone to sync messages and chat history. It has been available for Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone devices since the start of the year. At that time, WhatsApp said "Apple platform limitations" kept them from providing the feature to iPhone users.

The popular messaging service recently updated its website with instructions on how to set up WhatsApp Web for the iPhone. Users have to open the WhatsApp website on their computer browser and scan a barcode using their iPhone. However, the feature is being rolled out to users in phases.

WhatsApp has been experimenting with other features recently. The Facebook-owned service rolled out a feature to let Android users back up their messages and media to Google Drive in a recent update.
