HYDERABAD: Intoto Inc., a U.S.-based provider of secure embedded gateway infrastructure software with its development center located in Hyderabad has announced the availability of stateful inspection firewall solution (npFirewall) for the Intel IXP1200 (Intel exchange processor) Network processor. "This highly scalable and flexible security solution address the OEM requirements for building high-performance secured gateway applications including broadband access platforms, QoS, firewalls and intrusion detection, VPNs, load balancing equipment and multi service switches," said, S.N. Murthy, President and COO at Intoto's Hyderabad center.

Intoto's implementation of a full-featured network address translator (NAT) and firewall solution in microcode can deliver scalable performance on communication equipment based on Intel IXP1200 network processors. "The microcode delivered by Intoto helps equipment makers quickly integrate security features into their products, accelerating their time to market. We are also planning to support security solutions for the new Intel IXP2400 and IXP425 network processors," said, Sathyan Iyengar, President and CEO of Intoto Inc.

The npFirewall solution offered by the company comes with a full-featured stateful inspection firewall. The architecture supports the use of multiple data-processing engines on Intel network processors, enabling the OEMs to create multiple virtual firewalls using subscriber specific policies.

The cyber defense engine of npFirewall protects against a large number of internet attacks including DoS, DDoS and reassembly attacks and has a built-in NAT with support for a wide range of application level gateways (ALG). The product is also capable of application content filtering, authenticated remote user access, Web-based management and administration.
