Intex unveils nine avant garde notebooks

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Intex Technologies (India) Ltd.- recently rated by Dataquest trade magazine as the 101st fastest growing IT company in India out of 200 - announced a massive product-line expansion in its existing notebook portfolio with the launch of nine new avant garde models - Intex Lifestyle Book, Gaming Book, Tablet Pad, Business book (3 variants) and Education book (3 variants).

As the names signify, this range caters to the computing needs in intuitive and innovative ways in order to add to productivity and sense of style of varied consumers like working women, gaming and fashion enthusiasts, professionals, students, etc., to name just a few.

All the notebooks are Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled and are equipped with either Intel's Celeron chip or high-end processors– Core 2 Duo and Dual Core. Four models are built on Intel Centrino technology platform.

Boasting irresistible sleekness and style, Intex Lifestyle Book suits the persona of a working woman who is really fastidious about her style-quotient. Features adding value to the convenience and leisure include 12.1’’ TFT -LCD screen, Intel's Dual Core processor, weight only 1.8 Kg and three colour options- pink, black & white. This model has been priced at Rs. 33,000- (MOP). 

Intex Gaming Book is designed for complete entertainment on the move including high end gaming experience and graphic designing applications. The machine is vivid and powerful, enabled by Intel Centrino technology, Nvidia Graphic power , SRS WOW technology based speakers and inbuilt hybrid TV Tuner. It retails at Rs. 75,900/- (MOP).

Combining looks and features, Intex Tablet Pad is a smart offering for professionals who look for gadgets that gel with their overall style statement. Some of the high points are 12.1” TFT touch screen which can rotate at 180 degrees, weight 2.1 Kg and price, Rs. 47,900/- (MOP)

Intex Business Book is rich in features and is designed for SEC-A and SEC-B consumers. These machines are available in screen sizes of 15.4" and 13.3"and come with the features like HDMI port for high resolution output to HDTV, high quality sound output, logical short/hot keys to play music and Internet, security features like finger print and Kensington lock. The MOP range is Rs.32, 900-Rs.42,900/-

Presenting a ' value for money' option with high performance and efficient features are Intex Education books which are apt for students and 'exceutives-on-move'. The MOP range is Rs.25,900 to Rs.29,900/-                                                                                                                                    

With the addition of these feature-rich, compact and technologically advanced models in Intex's notebook portfolio, the company aims to clock in a turnover of Rs. 200 crores from its PC division in this financial year. The contribution of notebook sales in this figure will be around 30 percent, thus indicating that notebooks would form a major focus group, to drive PC vertical business.

Intex PCs are also available on DGS&D rate contract. As a result of this, the company expects to build up sales volumes in government and quasi government organisations, PSU’s, educational institutes, etc. 

Expansion in branch, resident sales representatives and channel partners for PC business vertical is on the cards. Along with existing footprint in major towns, there will be further penetration in B and C class towns in this FY. A step-up in Intex PC distributor base from 400 to 600 is also planned in this FY.

This will be complemented with enlargement of company's service network. At present, Intex has a well distributed and robust service foot print spread across the country through its 103 service point locations which will be increased to 200 with in next twelve months. 

 

Recently Intex has come up with a new communication strategy – Life Version 2.0 - to draw up its all-India campaign for ATL and BTL activities. This will certainly help in re-positioning the brand as one associated with technology and in gaining a big chunk of the consumers' attention for products with end consumer interface.
