CHENNAI: Intelenet Global Services Ltd, a Mumbai based BPO service provider, would be setting up a 1000-seat facility in Chennai, by the end of December 2005.

"Chennai is the first center for Intelenet, outside Mumbai. The setting up of the new center would become significant with the entry of more new projects for Chennai. At present, the Chennai center is running two live projects for a bank and insurance company with 120 employee, functioning from Tidel Park, here," said Intelenet Global Services head-operations (Chennai) Vidya Ravikumar.

"Intelenet is also looking at other emerging cities in South India such as Coimbatore and Cochin for establishing our base here in near future," she further observed.

"Intelenet is known for rendering service like transaction process, endorsement and others (both voice based BPO service and back office support services) for banking and insurance industries. In parallel to the existing domain expertise, we would also like to concentrate on other areas such as IT consultancy and IT services, soon," Ravikumar informed.

"And, in a move to go beyond boundaries, we plan to open offices in the near shore countries, by the end of the next financial year," she added.
