The company's South Asia director (marketing), Sandeep Aurora, in an interaction with CIOL, said that with new designs, future roadmap is compelling for manufacturers and consumers to adopt. "We are confident to have more products and solutions coming out this year," he said. Intel, Aurora informed, is working with vendors globally and in India.

The chipset major, with new reference designs, is now expanding its presence in the mobile device ecosystem, and is poised to play a pivotal role. As the company steps up its efforts in mobility devices, the company is upbeat about its newly-announced fourth-generation Core-i-processors range that promises optimum energy efficiency.

"Incremental innovation has its own value, but now we are looking at transformational breakthroughs," said a visibly buoyant Aurora. The company, he said, is focusing on redefining designs with new form factors that would have gesture-based interactions and wireless charging, in addition to complementary security features.

Intel's Asia-Pacific director for product management and pricing, Leighton Philips, believes that quad-core Atom-based processor, Bay Trail, is their biggest leapfrog innovation ever in phone and tablet arena. The new platform, he said, is gaining a lot of traction in China and India, and new products around it could be expected by Q4 this year.

The company, Philips said, is focusing on enabling mobiles with dual SIM, dual standby, FM radio and microSD card slot in the emerging markets. With Silicon Hive acquisition, Intel is now leveraging its imaging capabilities in Atom processors. In 2013, the company is all set to reinvent mobility with Ultrabook products with fourth-generation Core processors, he added.

The chipset major has set the stage for a new range of voice-enabled Ultrabooks that would have 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi capabilities and all-day battery life as well as equipped with anti-theft technology during mid-2013. This includes innovation-driven convertibles and detachable devices.

Intel is aggressively innovating for delivering new experiences. With more than a dozen smartphone designs that are now ready, Intel is expected to announce new OEM partners during this year. Without naming, it said that it is roping in a major tablet vendor by the end of 2013.
