Intel and NIIT aim to extend the benefits of latest Intel technologies across the student and working developer community in India, a press release said.

Combining their respective strengths of Intel's technology and innovation with NIIT's instructional design, development and delivery expertise, the program will utilize the resources of Intel Software College and scale out course offerings through the NIIT network.

Joint programs will be developed to enable software developers to maximize the performance of their applications running on Intel architectures and platforms.

With developer needs and priorities in mind, the instructor-led training programs will also provide developers with access to tried-and-tested methods for optimizing software performance on Intel architectures, code samples, self-help and troubleshooting tools.

Initially, the training program will focus on multi-core processing with labs across 10 select NIIT centers at Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune. The long-term plan is to extend the program to at least 50,000 students over the next three years.
