The company said that Intel-powered tablets and Smartphones will hit the market in New Year as well as it would reinvent mobility with 4th Generation Intel Core processors, based on Haswell microarchitecture to be launched in mid of next year.

Intel South Asia marketing director Sandeep Aurora said that they are expanding the mobility spectrum with Ultrabook, Convertibles, tablets and Smartphones. "2012 has been tough year but, Indian technology fared well despite global odds," he said. Aurora said that PC penetration in India is low and has a long way to go.

Chip maker with its National Digital Literacy Mission launched with device ecosystem players, aims to empower rural India with e-literacy. "3 million youth have impacted through Intel My Discoveries program and Digital Literacy Week got overwhelming response across 10 cities," the company said. Aurora also said that they aim to enable ICT master plans in at least two states in 2013.

The company believes that with changing computing landscape, Notebook would be reinvented and the coming year would see many key features such as full HD display, all-day battery life, responsive voice and gesture capabilities. "Western markets will be launching Convertible Ultabooks around Christmas and Indian market would follow this trend in early 2013," he informed.

Next year, there would be a transition to touch, and large chunk is expected to adopt devices with touch capability, feels Aurora. Intel also said that they would enable Smartphone vendors with new designs and form factors worldwide, and it could be replicated in India too.
