HYDERABAD: North Carolina-based Instancy Inc. is searching for a second facility in India to brush up its research and development (R&D) activity.

The center is likely to come up in the next 3-4 months with a 50-member team.

``The new facility, like our Hyderabad center, would focus on R&D activities. We are yet to select a location as we are considering some cities for our R&D center,’’ said Harvey Singh, founder and CEO, Instancy Inc.

While declining to specifically name the cities that are under consideration, Singh said that Pune is most likely to house the company’s next center.

The Hyderabad R&D center was set up four years about three-and-half years back and employs 100 professionals.

The company’s sales and marketing office is located at its headquarter in North Carolina.

Instancy’s flagship product Instancy On-Demand Knowledge Portal, which was launched last year, was developed at its Hyderabad center.

Instancy On-Demand Knowledge Portal goes to the market in a Software-as-a-service (SAAS) model. It works on the Web 2.0 form with integration of 20 modules.

Instancy, which operates in the space of learning and knowledge management, has on board a total of 50 clients. ``Our focus is on the mid-market. The SMBs because of their size are willing to go for ready-made application,’’ said Singh.

Instancy employs Web 2.0 technologies like XML, workflow automation, collaboration and one-click transfer of content to mobile devices.
