Jhakaas, which runs a mobile app to fulfill day-to-day needs of consumers such as grocery shopping, restaurant hunting, vegetable shopping, ordering medicines and cab-booking was launched in March 2017 partnering with over 30,000 merchants in metros like Mumbai, New Delhi & Bangalore.

“Being aware of the Indian Retail Industry which has a varied mix of segments and consumer behavior, we felt we needed a model to develop a platform that caters to all the segments of society and enhances merchant’s (local businesses) experience as well,” said Bharat Mandot – MD, Jhakaas Technologies. “Indian merchant (baniya’s) are serving the communities for decades and know their business very well. The only challenge they face is that they lack the basic technological infrastructure which is setting them back from E-commerce and organized sector. We are here to help them to sustain and grow their business.”

Jhakaas has two user interface suiting the requirements of the customers and the merchants. The merchants are the small vegetable vendors, cake shops, restaurants, medical shops etc. The customer can locate the product availability in their vicinity through the application and place orders. Also, the platform allows merchants to browse and make transactions in multiple languages including all local languages like Marathi and Hindi. Jhakaas works on a minimum maintenance and fixed reasonable charges model with merchants without any commission that makes it popular with vendors.

Goodbox – Giving a mobile identity to the 60 million small businesses

While an app may help a business in revenues and portray an image of being a professional set up, they come at a hefty price. Add to this the growing clutter of apps on customer’s phone resulting in high uninstallation rates. These are the precise problems that Goodbox aims to solve.

The startup helps SMB’s with a ‘mini app’ within 5 minutes at 1 percent the cost of making their own app. A mini app is a readymade business app that comes power-packed with functionality and allows businesses to do all things that large DIY commerce tool will allow: upload products/services/price list, accept online payments, invite their customers to their mini app, take online orders from their customers, give customers reward points, view customer and aggregate analytics & reports, notify all their customers at once etc.

“Having a Mini App inside Goodbox is like having a shop inside a mall.” The startup is targeting 1 million businesses within the next 2 years.
