BANGALORE, INDIA: In times of slowing economy, Indian IT major Infosys Technologies is chalking out plans to gear-up its business by looking into new horizons.
Just after, recently announcing the foray into the domestic BPO domain, the company on Thursday said that it is in talks with five to six clients for buying their technology units.
According to a Bloomberg report, B. G. Srinivas, a senior vice president at Infosys told in a interview that the company is in discussions with two customers in the U.S. and three to four in Europe and it is also competing for almost $3 billion in contracts from manufacturing companies.
The first quarter results of Infosys was not a very pleasant one due to pricing pressure and less client spend, the software services giant is seeing high hopes for the future.
The company also has plans to expand its footprints into newer markets like Latin America.
In their annual report, chief executive officer, S. Gopalakrishnan said, “We are seeing opportunities in markets where their presence is relatively new. We expect the Latin American region to be among the fastest growing market for us."
He further added in the report that their second center in Monterrey, Mexico will be operational soon.
