BANGALORE, INDIA: Infosys Technologies Ltd announced that it would engage with United Utilities, a utilities company in the United Kingdom, to modernise their Operations Management System (OMS).
With this partnership, United Utilities aims to increase scalability and flexibility of its enterprise architecture through adoption of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), which is important to achieve regulatory compliance, involving design, development, migration and replatforming of OMS.
Over a period of nine months, Infosys will deliver a comprehensive approach to SOA adoption with frameworks, methodologies and re-usable tools to facilitate United Utilities' transformation to a service oriented enterprise.
"At United Utilities we focus on leveraging technology to better serve our customers and this is what has led us to adopt a service oriented approach to our enterprise architecture," said Mike Naden, United Utilities IS Services Director.
"Because ensuring regulatory compliance and improving customer service starts with improving back-end systems, we needed a technology partner with proven expertise and that is why we chose Infosys. We look forward to successfully deploying our first SOA enabled application," he added.
