BANGALORE, INDIA: Infosys recently made an announcement that it is acquiring US-based firm Panaya.
Panaya provides cloud-based quality management services for enterprise applications. The client list of the company is quite impressive which includes such as Coca-Cola, Mercedes-Benz, Unilever etc. The acquisition which has been made for $200 million lets Infosys undoubtedly take over the major client list as well.
Vishal Sikka, CEO, Infosys, said in his official statement, said: "This acquisition will help amplify the potential of our people, freeing us from the drudgery of many repetitive tasks, so we may focus more on the important, strategic challenges faced by our clients."
Infosys' silver lining Vishal Sikka after taking over as CEO said, things will change in the company. This acquisition has been a major statement towards this direction and an attempt to be at the top once again.
Faisal Kawoosa, senior analyst, Cyber Media Research, said, "Players like Infosys have to position themselves as complete solution providers at this juncture. When IT as a service is provided, clients will ask for all high and low end services. So, such players will have to have all the services under its umbrella to provides their clients. Infosys has taken the right step and will inevitably se a positive outcome."
This bold acquisition might turn things around at Infosys and set things right again.
