BANGALORE, INDIA: Informatica Corporation, a provider in data integration software, today announced the opening of the Informatica Marketplace to connect buyers and sellers to share data integration solutions within an open and comprehensive ecosystem of more than 100,000 active users.
The Informatica Marketplace will enable Informatica customers to lower even further their cost of deployment and speed time-to-market. Using pre-built components, customers will not have to manually code solutions, but can leverage the knowledge of the community to help deliver a specific data integration solution, said a press release.
The platform would provide vendors, partners and individual developers with a central location to buy and sell assets and solutions called “Blocks”. A Block can be developed for on-premise or cloud use and may include data models, mappings, mapplets, tools, utilities, packaged services, methodologies, white papers, connectors and other useful resources. Users will be able to browse Blocks for industry specific solutions or platform use cases.
Some of the Blocks now in the Marketplace include, AnalytixDS Mapping Manager, Appfluent Visibility, Cisco Tidal Enterprise Scheduler, Informatica — Value added Blocks and cloud services and Interface Development Parameter Wizard
All Blocks contributed to the Marketplace will be evaluated for quality and value before becoming available. To obtain a ‘Seal of Approval,’ third-party Blocks hosted in the Informatica Marketplace will undergo lifecycle testing and validation of up to 30 days by the Informatica Global Customer Support organization, said the release.
The Informatica Marketplace offers solutions in eight technology categories, which include Enterprise Data Integration, Data Quality, B2B Data Exchange, Application Information Lifecycle Management, Complex Event Processing, Cloud Data Integration, Ultra Messaging and Master Data Management.
Developers build on these technologies to deliver reusable custom data integration and data quality Blocks.
Informatica is currently holding a contest for all interested parties to develop new Blocks. The contest runs until July 30. The Grand Prize winner will receive an all-expense paid trip to the upcoming Informatica World in Washington, D.C, November, 2-4.
The winner will earn billing on the main stage to showcase their Block and a special three month promotion on the Marketplace site, the release added.
