According to Souma Das, Infor’s vice president sales and managing director India, the company has over 500 plus customers, among them 60 per cent are mid-market customers., while the SMEs and large enterprise clients are 25 and 15 per cent respectively.
“We are expanding our footprints in India by moving from mid-market to large enterprises. We have witnessed consistent double digit growth in India over past years and our growth has been by far the best compared to the industry,” Das said.
In terms of acquiring large enterprise customers and the company's overall business in India, Das hopes the economy to continue its good show. “We would like to see the growth momentum to be continued, if the economy remains stable,” he said.
Infor have formed partnerships with local as well as global system integrators (SIs) to scale up it reach to large enterprise customers.
Majority of staff are involved in the research and development (R&D) at the company’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) at Hyderabad, where solutions are customized and localized as per the Indian laws, compliance and tax regulatory norms before the implementation.
“We don’t want to sell one solution to every customer, but we have some of the best breed of solutions for specific segments such as retail, manufacturing, distribution, finance and others,” Das said.
Globally, Infor reported 17 per cent growth in its third quarter with addition of 2000 new customers and also added 35 new customers in India. “We would have around 600 odd customers by the end of this financial year (May),” he said.
Although Infor entered Indian market in 2006, its flagship product Baan or Baan ERP has been used and popular in the industry for over a decade now.
