Indian Bank partners with NCR

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Government of India owned Indian Bank (IB) has partnered with NCR Corporation to launch its first e-ticket kiosk and Portable ATM Centre at the Egmore Railway Station in Chennai.

This installation commemorates Indian Bank's 500th automated teller machine (ATM) deployment in India.

To support the bank's expansion plans to tap the unbanked rural sector and millions of individuals who commute by trains, NCR will install and deploy NCR's Personas ATMs at 156 locations identified by Indian bank on a turnkey basis, of which 51 units will be deployed at railway stations.

The Portable ATM Centre has been identified as a preferred option by banks in India as it ensures faster rollouts and can be deployed at any unconventional location to support the objective of 'Inclusion Banking', thereby expanding reach and tapping new customers.

This particular order includes e-ticketing kiosk infrastructure and NCR Personas 75 ATMs equipped with NCR's APTRA multi-vendor software, total site implementation services and related accessories for each site.

These ATMs are highly scaleable to support all marketing initiatives of the bank in future. NCR has been leading the design and deployment of Portable ATM Centres for many leading banks in India, including State Bank of India and Canara Bank.
