India’s largest IT park to come up in Pune

PUNE: Magarpatta City, a venture backed by Magarpatta Township and

Construction Company Limited based in Pune, has announced strategic alliances

with global entities such as Compaq, Microsoft, Avaya (formerly Lucent), 3Com,

Nortel, IBM, AMP, Cisco, Oracle and Computer Associates to provide complete IT

infrastructure in the city.

Cybercity Magarpatta, which is completely driven by information technology,

will be an intelligent abode for the networked society. High-end computing

machines will be furnished by Compaq and IBM, fiber optic networking to be

supplied by Lucent Technologies and AMP, global suppliers of communication

networking equipment and technology. 3Com, the premier networking innovator,

will offer active devices such as switches and equipment.

Company Limited, told media persons that the alliance was evidence of the

confidence displayed by global leaders to build India’s largest IT park with

world class facilities and cutting edge technology.

Cybercity Magarpatta, the commercial hub, will comprise of high-rise

intelligent buildings for the information technology intensive business. This

will accommodate about 3 million sq. feet of modular office space. This

Technology Park is proposed to be located on the periphery of the Central Garden

of 25 acres and will have a total area of 40,00,000 sq. feet.

Designed according to international standards, the ultra modern, commercial,

institutional and software developmental areas of Cybercity will have the

advantage of being landscaped with centralized security systems and proximity to

the airport, railway station and other parts of the city. Uninterrupted power

will be supplied by the Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB) along with

gensets for power generation and 64 kbps satellite and terrestrial links.

Channels will be provided for voice-data, video-conferencing and high-speed

connectivity through antennae and multi-point connections with customer

workstations worldwide by Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited and other ISPs.

Moreover, dedicated buildings for large, medium and small organizations along

with an exclusive space for an incubator building for entrepreneurs will also be

available at Cybercity Magarpatta.
