India, ASEAN for cooperation in MSME sector

NEW DELHI, INDIA: India and the ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) are looking for cooperation in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, according to media reports.

Sanjay Singh, secretary (East), Ministry of External Affairs, said that trade between India and ASEAN has been growing and is likely to touch the $70 billion-mark in 2012, say the reports.

“A number of joint projects are under consideration in various areas, including Information Technology and renewable energy,” the minister said. “An MoU in the field of tourism between India and the 10-nation ASEAN grouping is on the anvil besides an agreement on air services.”
