HYDERABAD: IMAP (International Merger and Acquisition Professionals) of

Hyderabad has entered the embedded and VLSI design space. The company plans to

address the portable devices segment like handhelds, PDA, home appliances, Net

appliances and engineering automation appliances. The company is also looking to

address the power sector. "The market size for this technology is estimated

to be more than $10 billion, growing at a rate of more than 40 per cent per

annum. We want to capture a sizable market share from this space," said

IMAP managing director Pankaj Gupta.

The company is also planning to go public on the 27th of this month, offering

18 lakh shares at Rs 10 aggregating Rs 1.8 crore. The shares would be listed on

the Hyderabad and the Ahmedabad stock exchanges. The proceeds would be utilized

for its expansion in the US and Australia. "We are opening marketing

offices in the US and Australia. Initially, these would be purely marketing

extensions but after some time we would make them our software development

centers. Currently, we have 30 software professionals working with us and this

figure would be scaled up to about 60 within one year as we expand our

operations," said Gupta.
