HONG KONG: I'M Intelligent Memory, a Hong Kong based fabless DRAM manufacturer, announced the release of a new family of SDRAM memory components for industrial applications.

The SDRAM product capacities range from 256 to 512 Megabits per chip, and operate on a standard supply-voltage of 3.3 Volt. The pin-outs, timings, and functionalities are JEDEC-compliant.

I'M offers its new SDRAM products in commercial or industrial temperature ranges, and in addition to the standard 54 Pin TSOP-II package for SDRAM, all products are also orderable in a very small 8x8mm 54 ball FBGA package. The 256 Megabit product is available in x8 and x16 configurations, while the 512 Megabit product is only offered as a x16.

3.3 Volt SDRAMs have become increasingly rare in the memory market although many applications will continue to rely upon the availability of SDRAM technology for years to come. And with the recent 'end of life' announcement of 512 Megabit SDRAM chips from Micron, a lack of supply has already begun to affect the industry.

Fortunately, I'M Intelligent Memory 256Mbit and 512Mbit SDRAM devices arrive in the market at just the appropriate time, with the promise of stable revisions and continued support of SDRAM technology for the foreseeable future.
