AMCC has chosen the IDT NSE for its Saguaro evaluation kit based on the AMCC nP3705 packet processor. The IDT LA-1 based NSE addresses the demanding requirements of AMCC and enables the early development of advanced network infrastructure products by AMCC’s customers.

The nP3705 Saguaro evaluation kit, incorporating the LA-1 based IDT NSE, allows customers to perform a comprehensive evaluation of the nP3705 packet processor. The kit provides a complete solution, including the IDT NSE, minimizing the design work required to interface between the two products. The IDT NSE software has been completely integrated with the AMCC nP3705 packet processor software providing designers with a development system that is easy to use and that shortens development time for new applications. Customers can also use base hardware/software design as a starting point for their own product development.

The AMCC processor has an LA-1 interface that provides glue-less connection to the LA-1 family of IDT NSEs. The glue-less interface ensures designers will not need to use any type of bridging device or glue logic to use these devices together to enable their solution. The IDT and AMCC joint solution is suitable for multi-service/MPLS switches, routers and access infrastructure applications.
