BANGALORE, INDIA: India's mobile services operator Idea Cellular Ltd., a part of Aditya Birla Group, posted a consolidated net profit of Rs.201.40 crore, during the first quarter of the financial year 2010-11, indicating a dip of 32 per cent as against Rs.297.06 crore in the first-quarter of 2009.
The company's quarterly total income, including other operating income, amounted to Rs.3,653.70 crore, up 23 per cent from the Rs.2,975.90 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Idea said it saw a 13 per cent QoQ growth of minutes on network. However, hyper-competitive market conditions caused a 5.4 per cent decline in the average realized rate to Re.0.44 per minute.
Figures for the current period are not comparable with that of the corresponding period because of the merger of Spice Communications Ltd. effective March 01, 2010.
