BANGALORE: Macromedia announced the launch of Flex Builder, an integrated development environment (IDE) for Web applications built on the XML-based Flex application platform. Macromedia announced this product a few months back by the name 'Brady.' Said an online report.
Flex Builder offers a design view for interface layout, a MXML (Macromedia Flex Markup Language) and ActionScript code editor, and integrated debugging capabilities. Components can be dragged and dropped into the interface facilitating faster development.
Jeff Whatcott, the vice president of product management at Macromedia, said that this IDE would do for Flex developers what Dreamweaver does for HTML.
Macromedia is also working on Partridge, a tool that will help developers build Flash-enabled applications from within other IDEs.
