MUMBAI: IDC has named CA as the worldwide market leader in Identity and Access Management (IAM) software for the sixth consecutive year.
According to IDC, CA continued to lead the IAM market, with a 17.2 per cent share and revenues exceeding $522 million.
IDC said the worldwide IAM market increased to $3 billion in 2005 as organizations continued to look for more cost-effective ways to manage their security infrastructures in the wake of increasing regulatory mandates and tighter budget constraints.
While compliance was the largest market driver for IAM, other factors driving its adoption included the need for enterprise single sign-on (SSO), more sophisticated password management technology and workflow integration with provisioning systems.
CA solidified its lead position in IAM market with the 2004 acquisition of Netegrity and its SiteMinder Web SSO products.
