IBS expands in India, signs deal with Jet Airways

BANGALORE, INDIA: IBS Software, a leading provider of new-generation IT solutions to the global Travel, Transportation and Logistics (TTL) industry, has announced that its Crew Management System- AvientCrew, has gone live with Jet Airways. With this implementation, Jet Airways becomes the first Indian customer for IBS and also the first in the Indian aviation industry to use AvientCrew to handle mission-critical flight operations.

IBS also announced the inauguration of its 12th global centre at Bangalore, which will be its 3rd development centre in India. With the Indian aviation industry growing at its current pace, IBS sees a big business opportunity for its new-generation solutions in the Indian market.

AvientCrew, IBS’ Crew Management System helps airlines manage their crew & optimize crew utilization and enhance productivity right from initial planning through to the day of operation. It enables easy viewing and manipulation of pairings, rosters, crew data and fast system enquiry. It provides crew management decision support functions that are effective in solving a wide range of problems by real time simulation and advanced ‘What if’ capabilities. The system improves crew productivity through pairing and rostering optimization and reduces disruptions due to absence of crew.

The Bangalore office is IBS’ 12th global centre and the 3rd in India, located at Brigade Techpark, Whitefield. The inauguration of the Bangalore centre, underscores IBS’ plans to expand to become a 1000 crore company by 2010. In addition to the recently inaugurated first fully owned campus at Trivandrum, IBS has plans to set up its own campuses at Cochin and Kozhikode in the near future as also another development centre in Chennai. IBS is also looking at acquisitions in the coming months to build on their domain expertise.

On the occasion of the inauguration of the Bangalore office, V. K. Mathews, said, “We are excited about the opportunities that Bangalore offers.
