BANGALORE: IBM India has signed a knowledge sharing arrangement with Infosys Technologies. This agreement is a result of the combined effort of the Developer Marketing initiative led by IBM India and the Knowledge Management (KM) Group at Infosys.

Both the companies hope that this pact will help building skills and improve exposure on emerging technologies. This should also benefit Infosys employees (Infoscions) to develop applications and deliver solutions on the IBM platform using the latest standards such as web services.

The initiative was kick started at the Infosys’ corporate headquarters in Bangalore in the first ‘IBM developerWorks Web Services Seminar’. The two companies will organize a series of educational seminars for their employees on leading and emerging technologies such as IBM solutions for web services, application servers, frameworks for application development and other topics like legacy integration.

Under this knowledge sharing initiative, the companies will initially focus on four activities, seminar, skills development, knowledge sharing and technology resources.

Seminars: The two companies will organize a series of educational seminars on leading and emerging IBM technologies such as web services, application servers, frameworks for application development, architectures, legacy integration, etc

Skills development: The seminars and technical training will enable Infoscions to refine their skills and receive certification on IBM technologies

Technology Resources: IBM will offer Open Standards based technology resources to the Infosys community through linkage of IBM developerWorks portal from Infosys’ intranet knowledge portal, KShop.

Infosys, Member of Board, Srinath Batni, "We are happy that Infosys and IBM could come together, leverage our relationship and consolidate our knowledge to benefit the end customer. I am sure collaborative and innovative forums such as this will enrich both the companies".
