BANGALORE: iBack office, a call center and CRM service provider, plans to scale up to
1000 employees by the end of the year, which presently has about 225 employees. The
company claims to have extendable infrastructure (if needed) within its current premises.
"We are certainly on a fast track growth for our deliverables and quality of
service. We are picking up a client per week for the past couple of months. Depending on
the business needs and growth projections, we might end up anywhere within the region of
having 500 to 1000 employees in our roll. In the call center space, the size of a company
is not derived by the number of employees it has but the number of customers it caters to.
It is up to the customer to engage the number of man-power required," said iback
founder and CEO, Sanjay H Patel.
The company has set up an infrastructure in Mangalore with a built in space of 1,20,000
sq ft in a 20 acre plot in a bid to set up, what is dubbed to be the largest call center
in the country. However it would be ready for occupation only next year that was earlier
planned to become operational this year. "We are not fully occupied in Bangalore.
Once we are 100 per cent utilizing the facility, then we would plan to move to Mangalore.
More than mere cost effectiveness, employee turnover and infrastructure is also
important," stated Patel.
iback office has offices in the US and plans to set up a marketing arm for catering to
the European market via a strategic alliance with a partner. The company has identified
five verticals, financials, telecom, technology, high-end consumer and travels, as the
major source of target audience.
On the market, Patel said, "India is looked upon as an ideal place to set up a
call center. Geographical position, quality of service, command over the language and
subject, customer handling, productivity and cost effectiveness are some of the critical
reasons why India is looked upon for offering IT enabled services."
