NEW DELHI: i2 Technologies, Inc., provider of marketplace solutions, has tied

up with IBM, the world's largest information technology company, to add

analytical capabilities to i2 TradeMatrix. This will be achieved through

knowledge discovery services and applications. The new i2 TradeMatrix Knowledge

Discovery Framework (KDF) uses data-mining technology from IBM and is designed

to help companies unlock value-creating knowledge from mass volumes of data

generated by B2B transactions.

Based on technologies like the IBM DB2 Intelligent Miner for Data and DB3

Universal Database, i2 TradeMatrix KDF is designed to provide comprehensive

analysis to companies gather valuable information from current and historical

transactions. The information can then be used to develop new strategic programs

to increase revenue and efficiencies. The i2 Trade Matrix KDF will be available

as a standalone, open system that can be customized to suit the needs of a

digital marketplace. A comprehensive suite of prepackaged applications will also

complement this open system.

"With i2 TradeMatrix KDF, companies will be able to benefit from the use

of i2 TradeMatrix analytics in an enterprise solution that either links to a

marketplace solution, or directly interfaces with specific marketplaces,"

said Yasser Al-Kazzaz, i2 vice president, Product Integration. "In either

case, combining IBM's strength in data mining, with the i2 analytic framework’s

breadth of capabilities, will help ensure that i2 TradeMatrix KDF is the leading
