BANGALORE, INDIA: Huawei seems to have realised that being nice and soft is not the need of the hour to take upon those who are trying malign its brand. For quite sometime, its competitors have been using media and government to criticize the Chinese networking vendor citing electronic espionage and threat to national security.

As per a report on CRN, Rob Claus, vice president of channels, Huawei Enterprise U.S.A., said: "Our competitors are not being nice to us. We're not going to be nice to them."

This is the first time that a Huawei executive has gone on records to say it is time to go tough on its competitors, such as Cisco, IBM, Dell and HP, who have been tarnishing Huawei's brand, especially in the US market.

As per the report, Huawei will be more aggressive from now in branding and marketing its products developed and innovated from its own R&D, unlike others who depend largely on acquisitions to bring in new IPs.
