Huawei wins patent lawsuit in China against Samsung

Huawei is using artificial intelligence features like the instant image recognition to take on Apple and Samsung, as per a Reuters report. Richard Yu, chief executive of Huawei's consumer base, revealed a new phone chip that Huawei is betting on for its upcoming flagship phone Mate 10 to deliver a faster processor and low power consumption.

Yu confirmed that Huawei will launch the Mate 10 and its sister phone, the Mate 10 Pro in Munich on 16 October. Artificial Intelligence built in the chips of these phones will help them make more personalized or anticipate actions and interest of the user.

Yu believes the new Kirin 970 chip’s speed and low power can translate into features that will give its phones an edge over the Apple iPhone 8 series, set to be unveiled on September 12, and Samsung’s range of top-line phones announced this year. Huawei is the world’s no. 3 smartphone maker behind Samsung and Apple.

At the IFA Berlin 2017, Yu said,"Users are in for a much faster performance, low power consumption, longer battery life and compact design." The company assures that the new chip will preserve battery life in phones by up to 50 percent.

The Kirin 970 is designed by Huawei’s HiSilicon chip design business and built using the most advanced 10-nanometer production lines of contract manufacturer TSMC.
