The company says it won't be showing ads on TouchPal, HTC's built- in keyboard app. It added that the ads cropped up in the keyboard due to an error. A software update is in works to rectify the error. Many users have complained about the ads on Twitter-

"Due to an error, some HTC customers have reported seeing ads on their phone's keyboard," a spokesperson said. "This is absolutely not the experience we intended, and we're working to immediately fix the error and remove the ads as quickly as possible."

In response to the complaints, the official HTC Twitter account is asking users to uninstall the new updates to the keyboard. Judging by HTC's response to the whole matter, it seems that the ads were added to TouchPal without HTC's approval.
