TAIPEI: Industry sources say that memory module maker Kingston Technology has recently entered the supply chain of High Tech Computer (HTC), offering their in-house developed eMMC NAND flash memory device. The device uses Toshiba's chips and is composed of Elpida Memory's mobile RAM solutions.

PTI (Powertech technology) is packaging Kingston's eMMC solutions, in an MCP (multi-chip package), say the sources. They also report that shipments to HTC have already started.

The sources also revealed that Kingston’s eMMC development is currently running ahead of schedule and the company now joins Samsung Electronics and SanDisk as a supplier of embedded memory solutions for HTC.

SanDisk's proprietary iNAND and also Samsung's moviNAND embedded memory devices are now available in capacities of up to 64GB.
